 RIS is looking for young and dynamic researchers for a post each of Fellow and Research Assistant for its research study project on ‘Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Roadmaps in India.



A. Fellow


Qualification
 - Master’ degree in Economics 
- Doctoral degree in the relevant discipline (Economics
- Prior experience in STI and SDG would be preferable  

Age 
- Not more than 35 years of age 

Remuneration 
- Rs. 93,330/- per month, all inclusive.    


B. Research Assistant

Qualification

 • Master’ degree in Economics 

Age

- Not more than 30 years of age  

Remuneration

- Rs. 60,648/- per month, all inclusive.   

Nature of engagement

- On a contractual basis. 

- The appointment would be for one year, including a probation period of three months, which has to be satisfactorily completed for extension of tenure for the rest of the year.

The IIT Gandhinagar Early-Career Fellowship (IITGN-ECF) offers young scholars the opportunity to work on exciting challenges or research problems in a creative and interdisciplinary ecosystem.  Fellows in the program will have access not only to their assigned department but to the entire research infrastructure and facility of the Institute, which prizes interdisciplinarity. This fellowship strives to empower exceptional researchers and thought leaders in their academic pursuits.

The Early-Career Fellowship Programme invites applications from scholars with a
consistently outstanding academic track record. Fellows are expected to pursue research with significant impact, expand their networks for collaborative research, student mentoring, external grant writing, engage in transformative projects and missions, pursue entrepreneurial endeavors, etc.


Responsibilities

Selected candidates will work with an IITGN faculty member on a well-identified research problem that leads to a significant research contribution through scholarly publications. They are also expected to guide student projects, conduct scholarly activities, and attend international workshops. The Fellowship offers promising young scholars an opportunity to advance their scholarship and academic leadership with the aspiration of joining the top academic institutions in the country.

Who Should Apply?

The applicant should have successfully defended their PhD thesis from an Indian Institution/University on or after July 1, 2020. 

They should demonstrate high quality research work, supported by scholarly publications. 

The candidates who have submitted their doctoral thesis are also welcome to apply.

FELLOWSHIP

• Fellowship of Rs 100,000 per month (R$ 90,000 plus Rs 10,000 HRA)

. Professional development grant of up to Rs 2 Lakh per year.

 • The Fellowship is initially for one year, which can be extended up to two years if performance is outstanding.
